During a special November 24 episode of the New Heights podcast, Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson praised Taylor Swift (Life of a Showgirl) for her positive influence on young NFL fans.
While chatting with Jason and Travis Kelce, Andrews, 47, and Thompson, 43, shared how they first got involved in sports, giving a special nod to their dads for inspiring their love of football. Jason, 38, then asked the hosts for tips on how to get his own daughters excited about watching games with him.
“Erin and I have discussed the influence Taylor has on women and young viewers,” Thompson said. “Those little girls who might not have cared about football suddenly sit down to watch because of her. The commercials, the videos now dads have a special bond with their daughters over her, and that’s really meaningful.”
Thompson added, “As two women who built careers thanks to our dads, seeing those moments for young girls is incredible. Who knows the impact it will have on their lives in countless ways, but it was really special to witness.”
Andrews agreed, while Travis could be heard in the background thanking Thompson for her kind words about his fiancée. Jason, a father of four daughters, noted that “one of the coolest things is hearing from dads or daughters about Taylor’s involvement in the NFL.”
Since 2023, Swift has become a familiar face at Kansas City Chiefs games, cheering on Travis at two Super Bowls and most recently at the home game against the Indianapolis Colts on November 23, which the Chiefs won in overtime. Her presence has drawn new audiences to the NFL, a trend Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt acknowledged earlier this year.
“The first thing to mention is how happy we are for both Travis and Taylor in their relationship,” Hunt said in August, the same month the couple announced their engagement. “That’s the most important thing.”
