Julianne Hough is teaming up once again with ex-boyfriend Ryan Seacrest for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2026.

Exes Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest are reuniting for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2026. ABC confirmed on Monday, November 24, that Seacrest, 50, will host from New York City alongside Rita Ora, with Chance the Rapper in Chicago. Hough, 37, will join Seacrest and Rob Gronkowski as cohosts from Las Vegas.

This will be Hough’s first time cohosting Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, but her history with Seacrest goes back over a decade. The two dated from 2010 to 2013 before ending their three-year relationship.

After their breakup, Hough reflected on how their differing career paths impacted their relationship. On Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast in August 2024, she said, “The rug was swept up from underneath me, and I was just flying and I was experiencing things that I didn’t even know existed. I had this insecurity that I was like, ‘I don’t ever want anybody to think that I’m with him for this reason.’”

Hough admitted that she started second-guessing herself and “playing smaller” to fit into what she thought Seacrest needed to be happy.

After parting ways with Seacrest, Hough began dating Brooks Laich, marrying him in 2017 after four years together. In May 2020, they announced their separation, stating: “We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate… We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place.”

Us Weekly confirmed that Hough’s divorce was finalized in June 2022. Reflecting on the experience, she told Armchair Expert, “It wasn’t right. That can be a hard thing to fully accept. I feel like our relationship and our marriage was exactly right, and the end of it is right too. We both have regrets that it didn’t work out, because I don’t think we had the maturity to come together. He was contracting while I was expanding. We just couldn’t find each other in that.”

Hough later addressed public misconceptions about her career, telling Watch What Happens Live in August 2024, “I think because I do so many different things, I’m a bit confusing. People are like, ‘What does she do, does she dance, is she a singer, is she an actor, what does she do?’ But I think I’m a storyteller. And I think by nature, everything that I do is storytelling whether it’s through my body or through my voice or through my acting.”

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2026 airs on ABC on December 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
