Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia is preparing to step into the next chapter of her podcasting career.
“I think I’m good with just one podcast,” the 26-year-old told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her appearance on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test season 4. “I can only talk for so long and people don’t want to hear me talk that much.”
With the “BFFs” podcast which she previously cohosted with TikTok star Josh Richards officially wrapped, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia is turning her full attention to PlanBri Uncut. The show returned to weekly episodes in October after a year-long break, and she couldn’t be happier about the renewed momentum.
“People are loving it. I think they’re loving it because they can tell I love it,” LaPaglia shared. “I care about it. I think about it every day what the next episode will be, what topics to cover, how I can really touch people and move people without relying on flashy things.”
LaPaglia emphasized that she doesn’t want PlanBri to turn into a “clickbaity” or “scandal” podcast.
“I want it to be something people can count on every week something they can listen to and feel like they’ve got a best friend in their headphones or in their car,” she explained.
LaPaglia recently reunited with Richards, 23, for the “BFFs: THE FINALE” livestream, which aired Tuesday, November 18. The pair said an emotional farewell to the podcast once also hosted by Dave Portnoy after five years together.
“We were way more emotional than we thought,” LaPaglia told Us. “We had planned this months in advance. It had just run its course for us.”
The Barstool Sports personality added that she and Richards were ready to move away from “talking crap about people” and breaking down headlines. And yes even without the podcast, she confirmed she and Richards remain close friends.
We wanted to end it in a happy place where we both still loved it and cherished it,” LaPaglia explained. “We got to say goodbye. We did a six-hour livestream.”
The conclusion of BFFs, combined with the revival of PlanBri Uncut, created what LaPaglia calls the “perfect full-circle moment” in her podcasting journey.
“It gets to showcase this new chapter of my life the one I got to show on Special Forces and where I am now,” she shared. “My dream has always been writing and directing. I’ve said it since day one on BFFs. That’s where I’m heading, and that’s what I want to do.”
She added that she’ll always be thankful for her time on the fan-favorite podcast.
“I’m so grateful for BFFs and that podcast, because it got me here.”
LaPaglia also opened up about how competing on Special Forces pushed her into an entirely new phase of her personal and professional life.
“This happened at the perfect time for me,” she told Us. “Being 26 and going on the show, like, what’s going on? You think your 20s are going to be the best and most fun years of your life.”
She joked, “In hindsight, it’s literally like, ‘Am I in hell? Is this actual hell in every sense of the way?’ This show happened at the perfect turning point and it’s allowed me to grow up and show this new side of myself to new audiences.”
New episodes of the “PlanBri Uncut” podcast drop every Sunday.
