Following an explosion in a house in Stoke Newington, London, a woman was found stabbed to death inside a burnt home.
Emergency services raced to Fairfoot Road after a report of an explosion and a fire on Wednesday night. Firefighters fought the fire before finding the dead bodywhichho was fatally stabbed.
The Metropolitan Police have opened a murder case, and they are searching for the woman. A crime scene is still, and forensic teams are in the property examining it.
Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley said it was a “deeply disturbing” incident, and she asked witnesses or anyone with some information to volunteer it.
Neighbors said they heard a big explosion before they saw the fire that was spreading to the house. One person said, “It was terrifying—the whole street shook.”
There are no arrests made yet, and the police are asking for anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage to call them without delay.
