Vatican City – Pope Leo XIV of the Vatican held his first ever press conference earlier on addressing a number of the world’s issues, right from social justice to international diplomacy. Moreover, he elaborated on the moral obligation of nations to welcome refugees and protect those who are in danger which is in contrast to the administration of Trump that was very liberal in granting asylum.
Vatican representatives have tried to minimize the impact that the Pope’s words have had on rumors that they were directed at a particular political figure, arguing that the Pope’s message was aimed at everyone. Nevertheless, political commentators and religious scholars have considered the context and the wording of his remarks about Trump’s impact and recent statements about controversial matters.
The Pope’s press conference and his remarks on the issues that the President didn’t respond to have been a topic for the media. However, the followers of Trump are against the interpretations and do not see them as a reliable source of information. On the other hand, liberal Catholic organizations have greeted the pope’s comments as a reiteration of the Church’s stand on social justice.
