Noel Gallagher has acknowledged the news about the rumored Oasis rehearsals, although he has denied the possibility of a reunion and has revealed his opinion about the band’s future.
It is clear from The Mirror that although there are a lot of rumors and fans are still hoping, the former Oasis songwriter and guitarist firmly denies the existence of any secret rehearsals or that they have talked about reuniting the iconic Britpop group.
In a conversation with us, Noel factually gave his opinion and said: “No, no rehearsals, no meetings, no nothing. Just let it go, please. I mean, people need to move on.”
The high-flying 57-year-old musician, who is currently enjoying his successful solo career, is not very enthusiastic about thinking back to the past of Oasis. “We were the best band in the world at what we did. But that chapter’s closed. I’ve got no interest in going backwards.”
These remarks given by Noel are in response to the long-running rumors of a potential reunion between him and his brother Liam. The notorious feud between the brothers resulted in the band’s split in 2009, and Noel has remained firm in his position despite incidents of jabs in public.
When reporters asked him if he had changed his mind, he answered: “Not even for half a billion quid. Some things are better left in the past.”
Nonetheless, the fans are still optimistic. Social media was full of various statements; some users appreciated Noel’s candidness, while others were sad because his words were definite.
As of now, Oasis’s iconic reputation appears to be intact, with no indications of a meeting or reunion.
