Paul Walker is still deeply missed by his close friend and co-star Vin Diesel, even 11 years after his untimely passing. The two actors formed a strong bond after working together in the Fast & Furious franchise, maintaining their close friendship for nearly 15 years before Walker’s tragic death in a car accident on November 30, 2013…
On Tuesday, September 12, which would have been Walker’s birthday, Diesel took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute to his late friend. In his heartfelt post, Diesel reflected on the impact of their friendship and its lasting influence on their lives and Hollywood.
“Looking back, a quarter century ago… I believe this was the moment we knew that our brotherhood was going to change Hollywood, that you and I meant something to the world… a multicultural brotherhood, bonded not by blood, but by love,” Diesel wrote, emphasizing the deep connection they shared.
He also hinted at Walker’s continued presence in the Fast & Furious saga, mentioning concept art for the next film. “To think I just saw concept art for the next chapter. Brian… yeah, I will have to brace myself for this next film,” Diesel added, acknowledging the emotional weight of continuing the series without his friend.
The 57-year-old actor continued, “I saw your mother and father this summer. I could feel your presence in their warm embrace. For the past 11 years, I’ve held onto words like talismans of light, each one a gift filled with love and wisdom from them.”
Diesel also took a moment to praise Walker’s daughter, Meadow, for carrying on her father’s legacy.
“And your daughter… my God, she’s continuing your good work, advocating for our oceans,” he added. “Just weeks ago, during a birthday dinner, Meadow gave a toast—man, you would’ve been so proud. She speaks from her heart with a grace that echoes so beautifully.”
Meadow also launched special edition t-shirts featuring a picture of her father to honor what would have been his 51st birthday.
In closing, Diesel reflected on the enduring legacy of their friendship. “Wherever I go in the world, there’s always someone reminding me of the impact we’ve had on their lives—whether they show off their cars with pride or say they feel like they were raised by us. That brotherhood, nearly 25 years strong.”
“A brotherhood, timeless and bound by love. For that, I am eternally grateful… but damn, I miss you, Pablo,” Diesel concluded, ending with a heartfelt birthday wish.
