The dark web, the invisible part of the Internet that can only be accessed by specialized browsers like Tor, is notorious for black markets, forums of hackers, and the most shocking content. Released in the ’90s, Phantom has followed the illegal underground’s “transformation” from only a few tech forums into a hotbed of criminal activities.
“The dark web isn’t just a place—it’s a mindset,” Phantom reveals. “You come across people who don’t care about anything, are not afraid of anyone, and are even willing to take the risks of the situation. Many times, you get in touch with things you would rather forget.”

1. The Real Hitman

“I have once been to a thread where the user has uploaded a video. It was not a fake one. The very next day, the media informed the audience about a new murder, which was possibly the same as the one described in the thread. “The scene was quite far from what you are led to believe by the myths, still, with my very own eyes, for the very first time, I saw an encrypted viewer where people paid to watch real violence. I called the police immediately, and when they reached the spot, the whole thing was shut down.”

“The people were not only selling data, indeed, they were selling other people. The worst thing was that some consumers were enabled to engage in illegal activities besides fraud.”
4. The Enigma of “404” Experiment
Phantom found the most inappropriate happening was a closed-door online club which was called “404.”
“The story goes that the members had agreed to be a part of a trial where they could ‘delete’ themselves in real life. The period in question saw the members starting to vanish from not only the Internet but also in physical form. There were no traces left, no death notices, just poof…vanished.”
A Warning to the Curious
Phantom’s last message is a clear and serious caution: “The dark web is not a playground. It’s a breeding haven for anonymity and monsters. If you try to come across nightmares, you shall surely get them – and they could also chase you.”
