Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary with delightfully tin-themed gifts!
The couple, 42 and 45, marked a decade of marriage this past July. In keeping with tradition for a 10th anniversary, they exchanged presents made of tin also called aluminum which is the classic gift for this milestone.
On the Monday, December 8, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery actress revealed that she and Kutcher, 47, have specific rules when it comes to gift-giving.
“There are limitations and budgets to it,” Kunis explained. “Neither of us is big on gift-giving, but we also have a tendency to go overboard. It’s very extreme.”
As a result, the couple set a $150 spending limit for gifts, which must also be homemade.
Kunis added a caveat: “It can also be homemade by someone else… that’s the loophole I found early on.”
For Kutcher’s gift this year, Kunis turned to Etsy, the online platform specializing in handmade goods.
“Ashton loves the Chicago Bears,” she said. “So for our anniversary, I got him a Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz made out of sardine and pea cans, all themed around the Bears. It’s really cute and really clever.”
As for what Kutcher gave her, Kunis prefaced the story by mentioning her love of sardines.
“Because I love sardines and he loves that I love sardines, he got me a custom-made sardine box,” Kunis said. “It’s just a giant tin sardine box. It’s really cute. I loved it. I was like, ‘I do love sardines!’”
She added, “I guess you can put tchotchkes in it, which I also love. It’s a really sweet gift.”
Kunis and Kutcher first met on That ‘70s Show, which ran from 1998 to 2006, but their romantic relationship didn’t begin until years later. They started dating in 2012 and tied the knot in July 2015. The couple shares two children, daughter Wyatt, 11, and son Dimitri, 9.
Reflecting on the secret to their long-lasting relationship in an October 2024 interview with E! News, Kunis said, “I still feel like we’re very young and we feel very young. I think that’s where the spark is.”
She added, “It’s only 10 years. It’s not really that long. I look at my parents, and they’ve been together for 50 that’s long.” She also credited humor, noting that they “laugh at everything,” which helps keep their bond strong.
Last month, the doting mom shared that she intentionally films only one movie per year so she can spend as much time as possible with Wyatt and Dimitri.
“I do one movie a year because I shoot when my kids are out of school, so yes, you’ll see me in just one movie annually,” Kunis told People.
Her latest film is the third installment in the Knives Out series, which also stars Daniel Craig, Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, and more.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be available to stream on Netflix starting Friday, December 12.
