A 15-year-old girl from Utah who had been missing for six weeks was found alive nearly 500 miles away from her home, authorities confirmed. The teen, whose identity has not been publicly released, was discovered safe in a remote area of Arizona, bringing an end to an extensive search effort.
Disappearance and Search Efforts
In mid-April, the girl was seen for the last time in her hometown in Utah. Upon her not coming home, her family reported her missing, and that raised a lot of concern amongst the local law enforcement officers and the community members. Initially, the investigators didn’t have any leads, but eventually, they received some tips and traced her digital footprint, which helped them to follow her movements to other states.
Authorities joined hands with multiple agencies, including the FBI, to track their lead on potential sightings. The search was fruitful when a truck driver informed the police that he had seen a girl who resembled the description of the missing girl. It happened near a highway rest stop in northern Arizona. The police reached there shortly after and confirmed their alleged identity by asking the girl.
